Wow, what a day at The Cardinal Chorale workshop! I enjoyed seeing friends both new and old. It was especially wonderful to sing with both the 30th and 31st editions of the Chorale, and rejoice in the loving spirit of the Chorale.
While walking to Walter Hall this morning for rehearsal, my friends and I saw a mother duck and her ducklings, along with a deer. They were so cute!
Later on in the afternoon, I attended my seminar with Lauren and Kailyn. We were looking into public relations and how we can create content that is relevant and “trendy,” while also staying true to the Chorale and the message we are sharing. We discussed our creative ideas, and are excited to share those with you soon! 🙂 Other singers attended seminars related to the enneagram, diction, and the music of the world cup!
I was really impressed with how the group is sounding this early in the workshop. However, I was especially pleased with my alto section. They are learning very fast, and I’m proud of them. It’s really important to work together as a section, and as an ensemble in general. I think the best part about the Chorale is our ability to uplift each other in our creation of music, but also as fellow human beings.
This evening we celebrated The 30th Edition of The Cardinal Chorale for the final time. It was such a bittersweet moment for me personally, and I know many others felt the same way.
Part of the emotion comes from watching the Chorale change so much over the past four years. It makes me realize I’m changing too. As a new member, I didn’t have the perspective and depth of what the Chorale is at its core. I find it so hard to articulate the wonder of this group, but it is such a beautiful thing that our world needs more of.
