Rehearsals today went well! I’m really impressed with our sound so far in our chorale season. We had some downtime to pack before our concert, and I found myself wondering where the time went during this week. It certainly felt like a blur! Time moved slowly, yet the days went by quickly. I definitely had to muster up a lot of willpower, but I eventually packed up my things. I know the chorale will “keep me close, as always,” regardless of where any of us are on the map.
As for the highlight of the day, the 31st Edition of The Cardinal Chorale performed their debut concert. Everything went well, and I could not be more proud of everyone. We sang all thirty songs of our repertoire, excluding a few traditional songs we sing every year. I personally enjoy the variety of music the Chorale brings to life with each season. We sing anywhere from musical theater to gospel, and I truly believe this diversity has helped me grow as a musician. I always enjoy the pieces we perform.
The theme this year is One World, One Song, One Voice. I really appreciate how we always lean into the theme as a group. I always know the chorale is a place of support and community, and this year I especially relate to this sentiment. No matter what any of us are going through personally, we can all come together and lift each other through song and friendship. There is nothing like the chorale and the people in it. I’m so thankful for this group and this experience. Until we meet again!
