Josh Flies Away

Written by: Emily Maple

Another wonderful day in the books! The Chorale woke up bright and early for another day of enhancing their musical abilities. We always strive to look at the glass “half full” so we can see what we can make of the day, not dwell on what has not gone our way.

A lot of our days look the same, but after a full morning of rehearsing, singers got to go to their first seminar session of the week. The options this week include learning about our personality type, designing foley sound effects, coding basics, and getting the best bang for our buck at music festivals. These are a fun break in our rehearsals to allow us to learn about more than just our repretoire during the week, helping us come back to rehearsal with a fresh mind. 🙂

At 7 p.m., the 28th edition of the Chorale gathered for their final concert of the #cc24tour. This was the official conclusion of the “Walk Together” season, and the beginning of the 29th Edition of the Chorale’s season, “Hand in Hand.”

After the concert, we gathered for our Chorale circle. This is where we express our thoughts and feelings for the day or for the concert, and funny stories and loving words were exchanged. One singer mentioned how Josh made a flying motion during “On This Night of a Thousand Stars.” Needless to say, we all broke out laughing. It’s a lovely way to end our day together before heading back to the dorms for some rest.

That being said, we got to be tucked in early for the night, and got a few extra hours of sleep! There’s nothing like feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, especially when we are working so hard to perfect our music. We are so excited for what this week brings!

Our concert series for the rest of the week includes: Reggie Harris and The Roscoe Brass Quintet. You can learn more about these events on our events page.
