It’s difficult to believe that it’s already Friday- today was our last day of recreation with Darrell, but that didn’t prevent us from savouring the company of our friends. As Darrell challenged us to act like a lizard or give our best impression of bacon frying, we laughed and worked together.
Our workshops and electives are finishing up, but that hasn’t prevent us from learning new material. The conducting classes have progressed and Mr. Snyder taught a class on the art of programming a concert.
Each day, Devon Duling, a fifth grade teacher at Union Elementary School, engaged us in a new learning experience for his Conflict Resolution and Teambuilding elective, to actively teach personal and social skills.
After a full day of rehearsal, we held OPUS OLYMPICS! Games included passing an egg on a spoon while walking, a scavenger hunt, silent birthday scramble, and naming as many of Ohio’s counties as possible. Each opus worked together for the Olympics, and often worked with another opus, in the games for a bit of friendly competition.
Tomorrow, we will perform in an preview concert, singing for those people who might otherwise be unable to share the joy of our music. We’re excited to perform!
