The Cardinal Chorale started the day as we usually do… in a chorale circle! This is where we get to share stories and memories from our home-stays and from the concert on the previous night. Our circle always brings us together and gets our minds geared up for the day ahead.
Then, we made our way to the Columbus Metropolitan Library and were able to explore for a while (in groups of three or more of course). In the park near the library, there was a collection of topiaries that resembled “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.” A truly beautiful sight. We also made brief acquaintances with the geese there as well.

After our library rendezvous, we made our way to North Market. There are several vendors in the market selling all kinds of food. Anything from Indian to Italian. They even had ice cream! Ironically enough I got the same combo as Matt (honey vanilla and lavender).
Following our extensive meandering and yummy food, we made our way to Southminster Presbyterian for rehearsal as well as the concert later on. During the concert we honored Emily Mathew with the Medal of Distinction. She was a former Chorale member and continues to be a gracious host to our singers every year. Our mission is to inspire hope and kindness, and the Chorale always wants to recognize when someone makes such a positive impact in the world.
Following the concert, we departed to our home-stays for the evening and tucked in for the night. I was able to socialize with Bo, a very fluffy, tubby dog who I had met last year on tour. We are always so thankful for our hosts and their hospitality! The Chorale is ready for an exciting day tomorrow in Findlay!
