The Cardinal Chorale had an exciting day of rehearsal for our upcoming tour yesterday! It has been quite a while since we have gotten together… 110 days to be exact. Many hugs and warm welcomes were shared in the Coshocton Presbyterian Church.
We dived right into our first full group rehearsal to start our morning. The polishing and revising of songs add the “sprinkles on top” before we begin performing them all week. After a few hours of singing, it was time for lunch!
The meal was provided by the members of Grace United Methodist Church. Singers also got to enjoy conversing with those they had not seen in a while. The lunch was very delicious and we are extremely thankful for everyone who provides meals for us! 🙂
After lunch, we split for a quick sectional rehearsal. These rehearsals are always fun because they allow us to be productive, but also allow us to grow closer to the other singers in our section.
We purposefully start the day together, break into sections, then into parts. By doing this, we can come together during the second half of the day and be more productive as a whole group.
During our second group rehearsal of the day, we mainly reviewed and solidified what we had done in the morning, while also introducing other pieces we had not covered earlier. Many laughs and inside jokes ensued! We also played “sit down if this applies to you” a fun game that Erin showed us!
Our dinner was provided by Heather Stewart and consisted of ham, salad, and even croissants! Many heartfelt conversations followed. It’s always wonderful to get to know other singers!
After dinner, we once again gathered for full SATB rehearsal. However, this time it was on the risers. We reviewed our music and other essential tour information. Every member also got a designated role in the chorale. Some include Coach Captain, Dressing Room Captain, PR table, Ushers, and Dining Hall Captain just to name a few! (and of course the blog team!)
To conclude a very long day of rehearsal, singers left the church feeling hopeful and excited about their upcoming adventures!
Our first concert is tonight at First Baptist Church in Bowling Green. You can see the rest of our concert schedule here, and you can stay up to date with the Chorale by following us on socials! We have Instagram and Facebook.
We hope to see you sometime this week. ❤️
